Agriculture is deeply entwined with all our lives, whether we are aware of it or not.
IMA's vision is for agriculture and food systems to be organized by holistic values (wellbeing, fairness, transparency, connection) and produced through mindful practices (deep listening, presencing, collaboration, prototyping).
Our mission is to cultivate the capacities for becoming present in the foodshed- the web of connections across self, other, nature, place, economy, ecology, society.
The Institute for Mindful Agriculture awakens awareness of the 3 soils- earth, inner, social soils. We apply the Theory-U framework for connecting inner transformation to social innovation to farms, food "value-web" businesses, community food justice, and the foodshed as a whole.
Becoming present in the foodshed is what connects our food and farming systems to a healthy future.
